T-Shirts with Allah on it seized and legal action taken against store owner

In Ras Al Khaimah, (one of the United Arab Emirates) Inspectors seized t-shirts at a sports shop that sells gym clothes with “Allah” printed on it. Residents had complained to the Department of Economic Development that t-shirts with Allah should not be worn by people when exercising. Shirts when at the gym are subject to dirt and sweat and people will go to the bathroom wearing that shirt with Allah’s name. T-shirts were seized by the government and they are unable to further sell such products. To take it a step further legal measures will be taken against the shop. Officials stressed that wearing and selling such shirts is against Islam.
