Tee Shirt Ban Lifted on Patriotic T-Shirts

Four students were suspended for wearing patriotic clothing. The clothing honored the American Flag; some had a Military theme to them. Shaw Heights Middle School had adapted this policy because of increasing tensions in the culturally diverse school. The Students were given tee shirts to wear for the day, and suspension took place the following day. They were given the choice to either change into the shirts that they were given or accept the suspension. Each student accepted the suspension.

One of the students father a political activist, when notified of his daughter’s suspension, grew outraged and formed a rally to be held at the school. Among supports that will attend the rally, a platoon of Marines will be there to support the rally.
Students will be at the rally to distribute tee shirts bearing the American flag. The students at the middle school all feel that the principal of the school is fair and open-minded. They say that she listens and responds to the student needs.
In the Fashion that the children of the school reflected, the principal posted a message on the schools website that the ban had been lifted. Flags may be worn on clothing as long as it is appropriate and non-offensive to the other students.
